September? The perfect month for revolutionize your home. The reason is easy to guess: it is the time of year when new projects and designs are shared: propelled by the very trends of the moment, all it takes is to choose one to change the look of one’s surroundings, and for the better. Colors, then, have always been the best way to make a significant change, but what are the trending shades in September 2024? From the new beige to ochre, we give you several ideas to give your home a new (and super trendy!) touch.
Warm beige, between colors and contrasts
Yellow-beige – a wow warm beige – is the color of 2024: Limitless is one of those bright, neutral colors with which to create contrasts and brighten the home. The great potential of this color, perfect for home renovation in September? We can reveal that it is powerful as much as a primary, but without losing the effects positive Of neutral shades. What immediately jumps out at you is that it is capable of illuminating the smallest of spaces, but it is soft and versatile for large rooms as well.
Its touch is decidedly modern, but without losing that vintage detail that people like so much: it matches warm and cold tones with extreme versatility, and you can combine it between colors, contrasts and materials with some ease. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor spaces, it can definitely be useful in a room in industrial style, in an Urban Jungle style home, or to play with wood and metals. To really revolutionize a room, however, pastel shades and Limitless lend themselves perfectly: it is the color of the year, after all, for a reason (and more).
Ochre color, for those who want to be daring
Yellow is one of the best colors for decorating home: a kitchen in a yellow hue, for example, is energetic and conveys good mood! As for the ochre hue, we can certainly call it enveloping and textural, with that warm light capable of illuminating and highlighting any decor. It is also a protagonist color: this means that we have to match it as best we can in order not to get a “heavy” visual effect.
The first advice we give, therefore, is to paint the walls yellow, then focusing on the essentiality of the furnishings, thus marrying the modern or minimal philosophy. The combinations must necessarily be soft, not too excessive, possibly in neutral hues. Very intriguing is the earthy palette, from yellow to brown, to play with without weighing down rooms. The right mood? Lo Nordic style, for example: the focus is on functionality and comfort, on light colors, on a mix that favors modern lines. With one contrast to make the difference: yellow ochre.
Terracotta, the ultimate in hospitality
Some people call the terracotta-colored as a passe-partout, and, in fact, it really is. We know the material, of course, but have we ever thought of using the shade to decorate our home and make it really cozy and warm? Deep, bright, able to inspire, it is not afraid of the strongest combinations and is perfect to combine with different materials, including wood and stone. We point out, however, that the terracotta shade is not just one, but there are several, such as that burnt effect o orange, or again rust-colored.
Again, however, we are talking about a particularly versatile color, suitable for the kitchen as well as the bathroom: in the first case, it can be useful for subdividing an area in a functional way, perhaps separating the cooking area from the table. In the second, it is the right idea to decorating a half-height wall, so as to make the furniture stand out, which can be classic o modern, according to one’s taste. What jumps out at you? Terracotta is not only cozy, but romantic when needed: just choose the most appropriate shade.
Light blue, for a touch of heaven in the home.
In the world of theinterior decoration every color is potentially the “right” one, but light blue, in fact, is a protagonist not to be underestimated. In the collective imagination, light blue is then, by definition, the “color of the sky”: there are, however, so many shades that can be exploited, such as powder blue, sugar paper blue. It expresses pomp and glory, its meaning is profound, and, indeed, its fame is linked to Giotto’s frescoes. The most beautiful aspect, probably, is that it manages to be a reassuring hue and at the same time is perfect as a “protagonist,” so to be juxtaposed with lighter colors to play with contrasts.
In the living room, it is possible to opt for the heavenly: optically, it almost gives the feeling of more space. A dark blue, on the other hand, turns out super sophisticated for the living room and bedroom. What are the colors to match? The white-blue combo almost always turns out to be a winner, but let’s not underestimate the elegance of gray or even beige (even in the Limitless version we told you about). Yellow, gold and light blue? A mix that illuminates. Light blue and coral or powder pink? A mix that conveys romance. It all depends, then, on the desired effect.
Olive green, not only in fashion
Among the Trending colors in fashion Fall/Winter 2024/2025 we find the olive green, also particularly suitable for decorating the home in September. A very intriguing shade, considering that it is natural, positive and even promotes relaxation: indeed, green – both dark and light – goes well with many colors, but above all it knows how to give more character to any room in our home. Matching ideas in this case are many: black, gray, white or even brick-colored or wood-effect manage to grant olive green a chance to stand out and create sharp but never excessive contrasts.
As far as styles are concerned, olive green sets us no limits-and that’s why we love it! – from classic to Scandinavian styles, maintains its power and beauty without particular difficulty. In the kitchen, for example, it becomes the right choice to play with materials such as brass and copper, especially for the faucets, or perhaps dare with antiqued iron, to grant a retro breath to the whole. It fits with versatility in the bedroom, where it can become the star color of the walls mixed with beige furniture.
